Up for Adoption This Week: Frederick


Frederick was born to Dorris, otherwise know as "Sewer Rat Dorris", a poor and mean tempered girl who spent her days sifting through sewers looking for anything of value, and her evenings avoiding the groping hands of strangers in the night, on the way to her humble home.

Her pregnancy was a surprise, she didn't know how it happened, but when Frederick was born with a tail it didn't matter how it happened, it was decided for her by the people, she must have mated with a sewer rat.

The shame Frederick brought to her life made it hard for her to love him. At first she would simply treat him badly, later she would beat him with a broom stick, and eventually treat him like vermin. This less than motherly behaviour wrecked a havoc on poor Frederick. In efforts to avoid his mothers wrath he would hide in shadows, and scurry across rooms, which made his resemble a mouse even more than before.

One cold winter day Dorris left the door to the house unlocked while fetching some food, Frederick pounced at the opportunity and snuck away from his home. On the directions of strangers he was lead to Mrs.Blathersby's, where he hid under the porch for the winter, until he was discovered when his snow barricade melted away in the spring.
